THE WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES HELP US TO IMPROVE OUR ENGLISH KNOWLEDGE
From 12 to 28 February, the
Olympic Winter
Games 2010 take place in
Vancouver,
Canada. About
5,500 athletes
from
more than 80 countries are competing in various areas of winter sports (92 from
the Czech Republic).
The Olympic Games are always a big event, and an estimated 3 billion people will watch the Olympic Winter Games 2010 on TV.
As the two official languages of the International Olympic Committee are English and French, Canada is a perfect country to host the Olympic Games (the official languages in Canada are English and French) and it´s really great opportunity for us to improve our English vocabulary, grammar and conversation.
Each English lesson we are going to start with a short warm up
activity
“Olympic Games News” and discuss. Before the Olympics we also made a “Medal
predictions list”. Each student enrolled in this note own prediction of the
number of medals that our athletes will receive. A winner or the winners of this
prediction will get a huge box of chocolate.
I think we will have a lot of fun and a lot of pleasant and moving experiences.
